Three members of staff from the Kuapa Kokoo Company Limited who are due for retirement have been rewarded by the company for their dedicated service to the company over the years.
The programme is the first ever event to be organized for workers who have gone on retirement since the company started operating some sixteen years ago.
The retirees who included Mr. James Nsowah, Oheneba Kwabi and C.O. Mintah were awarded at a colourful send off ceremony at the forecourts of KKL headquarters in Kumasi on Friday, 11th March 2011.
The retirees; Messers Mintah, Nsowah and Oheneba Kwabi served the company from 2002, 2003, 2004 to 2011 respectively.       
Speaking at the ceremony, Managing Director of Kuapa Kokoo Limited, Mr. Kwasi Aduse Poku called on staff of the company to eschew the get rich attitude most employees adopt and rather emulate the shining examples of the three who showed loyalty and dedication to duty.
According to him, being dedicated and loyal to the company is more rewarding than trying to embezzle the company’s monies and resources, an attitude fast permeating the fabric of our present society.
‘’You will agree with me that if any of the three we are honouring exhibited such behavior, we won’t be here today’’, he said.
He commended the three retirees for the enormous contributions they made towards the development of the company and also reminded them that although they are officially on retirement, they were still a part of the company and their ideas were still welcome.
On his part, the Executive Director of the Kuapa Kokoo Farmers Union, Mr. Emmanuel Kwabena Arthur reiterated the call made on staff members to stay loyal and work harder for Kuapa to move forward.
He was hopeful that subsequent events would see more improvement. Mr Arthur expressed delight at the institution of rewarding retiring employees by the management of KKL.
President of KKFU Madame Christiana Ohene Agyare who was also present promised to ensure that this laudable innovation continues during her tenure. She supported the idea of the creation of welfare fund for the employees. 
Each of the three retirees was awarded with two sets of parcels each and an undisclosed amount of money.
The retirees took turns to express their gratitude to both management and staff members for recognizing their efforts and for honouring them in that manner.
They were hopeful that this gesture would serve as a motivation for staff members to give off their best so that if they retire in future, they would also enjoy the same privilege if not better.
They promised to continue supporting the company with relevant ideas and suggestions whenever the need arises.
